I must have a copy of this film…

….but there doesn’t seem to be a download or DVD offered….

A amazing piece of animation and cinema, makes me want to grab the poem and learn it off by heart, just so I could sing it out to the people in the street 🙂

This is absolutely fantastic. Everything flows and is gorgeous. Definitely one my favourite shorts, going right next to the other I love (“She and Her Cat”).

Kudos for your selection of Nick Cave for the narrator! If ever there was a more haunting, mellow, modern beatnik voice…well, there never was.

I hope his involvement will be something of a constant in your endeavors.

A wonderful tail of that strikes at the heart. With a wonder of visual a poem. Truly worth every award it has received and much, much more.

I really loved this, but since I’m not a native english speaker, I’m having some trouble understanding all of the text. Would it be possible to put a transcript of the poem up?

This is one of the most amazing things I have ever seen.

Absolutely beautiful animation and story, but Nick Cave as the narrator was the icing on the cake.

    Thank you for this.

I have to join other is showering this gorgeous piece with accolades. My penchant for anthropomorphic jazz cats aside, the animation is smooth, the visuals are dark and stunning, the poetry is smooth and well-edited. This is one of the top best animated shorts I’ve ever seen, so perfectly polished.

I wish more animators were willing to take the risk and make great works like this one.

This was awesome – kept me interested throughout. It has a really great mood all through it – some sort of mix of noir and Edgar Allen Poe?

Like eating a whole box of chocolates myself, varied, unified, appeal, delicious, wicked, lure and with sweet and tang and sharp and ever so smooth mmmmm yum! Image and voice and music and pace all working to fill the box to full with the art of pure temptation.

What a lovely piece! I am reminded of Reed Waller’s work in terms of design and elegant early sixtie manneristic animation!

    Bravo!
