An amazing cinematic work! The noir feel and intensely contrasted colours mixed with the amazing voice narration create a fantastic lasting film. Congrats!
Awesome
really fantastic
really fantastic

that was stunningly beautiful.
That gave me chills. A mastery of all disciplines embodies in a wonderful work.
Wonderously spun, wonderfully narated, and wickedly creative!
This is amazing. Beautiful animation style and music. This film deserves its rewards it has won!
That was so wonderful! I loved it.
Yeah, fantastic short. Alas, Vimeo’s far too choppy and eratic. Constant blips and stops destroyed your terrific rhyme scheme.
Amazing!..I love it!
Simply marvelous. I really enjoyed the narrator’s voice and the whole style of animation. The poem was fantastic. You deserve every award you’ve received for this masterpiece.
Hey if you liked the narrator’s voice you should check out some of his music! Just do a youtube search for Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds. 🙂
This is truely an amazing short, probably the best i’ve ever seen. My friend, Annika and I fell in love with the style of the cats you all drew them in. My boyfriend, Charles absolutely adores the poetry as it is his life’s passion. I recited it to him over the phone and he loves it. The animation is so smooth, especially with the cigarette smoke throughout the film it looks almost alive.
The dark and sinister themes sent chills up my spine as i watched it, and probably the darkest part of the whole film for me was when The cats all pounce on ‘the organ grinder’ and claw at him. Also, how you drew the waves gave the situation a feeling i get during a horrendous thunderstorm.
Truely an amazing piece, i watch it to calm myself down if i’m ever filled with a negative feeling.
This… was beautiful. My tongue was wrestling with my heart in my throat at some bits… it’s stunning. Absolutely, I cannot imagine what time it took to make this.
I really am at a loss for colorful vocabulary, this speaks for itself.
absolutely incredible loved it.
It’s beautiful… Inspiring and makes me want to create works just as breathtaking as this, I wish I knew where to begin.
The question of free or paying for it brings in another element. ,
Beautiful Work !
Hope we’ll soon have french subtitles, to enjoy more the text ( which sounds great too )
That was marvelous.
The most spectacular animated short I’ve ever seen.
I would love this, but the narrator voice is so annoying and ugly, raw and ugh- sorry!
The rest is just fabulous, but I just can’t listen.
This is absolutely beautiful. I had to watch it three times in a tow before I could sit back and reflect on it.

Fantastic piece of poetry, animation and musical brilliance!
This is a really interesting video. Kind of dark though… You might like the other stuff at http://www.factopo.com
Wow! Really beautiful! Love the atmosphere!
I like that! I think it has a pretty good chance of winning at the Oscars. Even though I’m a big Pixar fan, I won’t be unhappy if The Cat Piano wins over Partly Cloudy.
snap! snap! snap! (just hear my beat fingers! ;O)
The Cat Piano.. Just Brilliant!
LSD
The story reminds me somehow of Murakami’s Kafka on the Shore, where “Johnnie Walken” kills cats to collect their souls and make a special flute. Beautiful animation by the way.
Gorgeous animation and quite an amazing noir feeling, only intensified by those final chilling moments. A beautiful poem and a pitch-perfect narration achieve a flawless overall execution.
I was completely captivated! A stunning story enhanced by the astounding poem… and the beautifully crafted animation! Definitely a winner! Will be keeping my fingers crossed to see this animated shorts take home an Oscar statuette…
Lyrically and visually beautiful.
Beautiful film! I haven’t been that entranced by an animated film since Cowboy Bebop! Absolutely brilliant.
Great art.
insane
schau dir das mal an! doll, was?
schau mal bitte
Holy Shit.
My heart sang with the beauty of this piece. Loved it, loved it, loved it.
I’m sorry, but, for me, it was a great disappointment. My aural imagination goes crazy when I try to imagine a Cat Piano. I dearly wish the group had put more thought/heart/insanity into the sounds of the piano itself. We were told in the narration of the colors of various things. We would have liked to see those things as well.
The nit pickiest of all: Too much blue. I love blue, but there was too much of it here/there. I would like to see the next creation!
Good luck.
I love the way you use color to elicit emotion from this piece. By far one of the best work I’ve seen.
Oozing with brilliance!
I disagree with Dan’s assessment. The piano sounded TERRIBLE and that is the point, cats in pain should never sound beautiful, not even horribly beautiful. I was a cat owner, nobody wants to hear a nail going through a cat’s tail. The shrieks used in the film were chilling enough and made me think of my old cat. Colour is over rated sometimes and the blues/greys/red and dash of white were sufficient for this piece. It is a brooding piece, told through the voice of a (starving) poet. Starving for sanity mostly in this short and starving for love. My world certainly looks that blue and grey when I’m depressed and have been driven to insanity. I do agree that it’d be nice to see colour in the NEXT piece but I love “The Cat Piano” as it is, noir-esque, almost like an old black and white film, jazzy and smokey, hazy with the dreams (or nightmares) of buskers and hookers.
love it!
This has been the best short video, I have ever had the pleasure to watch to my leisure.
loved it was so good =]
Utterly astounding, it has been quite a time since I was riddled a tale that could strike at the very heart of literature
It’s… It’s amazing!I simply don’t find words! I am shaken. Thanks you for work.
Genius
Absolutely stunning and almost lyrical. A modern slice of poetry for the masses.
Cats, great animation, grat style and fantastic words? I’m in 🙂

Fantastically done
The music, the animation, the narration, the poem, all brilliant and beautifully created!
